Well, there's not much to tell actually:
- I love reading (big Stephen King fan) and writing;
- I also love biology and chemistry ( I kinda suck at chemistry though);
-Nerdfighter,potterhead, fannibal, superwholock, the hunger games, and a lot of other little obsessions;
- Oh and also anime;
- I can't stand the colour yellow;
- I listen to all sorts of music;
- I have a cat.
together and apart:one of the many fascinating things about a scandal in belgravia is the “choreography” between irene adler and sherlock holmes. in all their scenes, they are engaged in a dance — stepping forward, pulling back, going past, turning, following, encircling — locked in each other’s orbit, yet refusing to be bogged down by gravity. it’s an indication of what they are (mirrors), what they could be (partners), and what they can never have (constancy).
there’s something really interesting in this passage that I wanted to point out Trelawney assumes that Harry was born in midwinter because of his “dark hair” and “mean stature” and “tragic losses so young in life” Tom Riddle was born in midwinter, is describe in CoS as resembling Harry, and his mother died right after his birth Harry has a piece of Voldemort’s soul in him that’s why Trelawney made that assumption
TRELAWNY WAS ACTUALLY A GREAT SEER SHE JUST MESSED UP SOMETIMES AND ACTED A LITTLE GOOFY SO NO ONE TOOK HER SERIOUSLY
BECAUSE CLASSICAL ALLUSIONS
For those of you who don’t know your Greek mythology, Cassandra was the daughter of the King and Queen of Troy. Apollo tried to get in her pants by giving her the gift of prophecy and took nice guy douche-bagging to a godly level by cursing her when she turned him down.
The curse? That she would never be believed.
So all of Cassandra’s warnings to the people of Troy fell on deaf ears.
And in case you don’t remember, Trelawny mentions that her great-great-grandmother’s name was … you guessed it… “Cassandra”
“Look…at…me…" he whispered. The green eyes found the black, but after a second, something in the depths of the dark pair seemed to vanish, leaving them fixed, blank, and empty. The hand holding Harry thudded to the floor, and Snape moved no more.”
Reason #999 why the cartoon will always be ONE MILLION PERCENT better than that travesty of a movie. They did so much research and put so much detail in you don’t even notice.
Bonus trivia: Toph got a unique martial arts style to match her distinct version of Earthbending (Southern Praying Mantis style, I think) which the creators found out later was (according to legend) invented by a blind woman. Totally a coincidence, but still so fucking cool.
(If you don’t watch the show, Toph is both blind from birth and the best damn Earthbender in the world. Also, GO WATCH THE SHOW.)
People talk about how hard long distance relationships are but nobody talks about the struggle of long distance friendships. I would give my left leg right now to just be able to sit in our pjs and watch movies or to just be able to give a big fucking hug.
